Born from a Need for Calm
HarmoLux didn't begin with a business plan. It began with a relationship with candles that goes back much further.
Our founder, Candy, grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where candles were part of everyday family life. During power cuts, they brought light into the home. They were also there during family prayers each morning and evening.
Those candles were simple and unscented. But even then, one small flame could change the atmosphere of a room.
When Candy moved to the UK in 2004, she discovered scented candles, and that familiar experience took on a new dimension. Now there was fragrance too — another way a candle could completely change the feeling of a space.
Over the years, candles found their way into the ordinary rhythms of life. A quiet start to the morning. The satisfaction of a freshly cleaned home. A bath at the end of the day. Time with family. Or one of those evenings when the outside world has been loud enough and home needs to feel like home again.
Eventually, Candy began making candles herself.
What started as something creative and enjoyable became a source of peace and purpose — and slowly, HarmoLux took shape.
That history still sits at the heart of the brand today.
